Project Description
After the historic First Christian Church in Washington, NC burned in 2014, the Church leaders turned to a design-build team to provide a new 27,500 sq. ft. church home. WIMCO Corp. asked Ark Consulting Group to join the team and we started with schematic site planning on the Church’s 3-Acre property located between East Second and Third Streets in Washington. Ark was involved from this point through construction documentation for the site and ultimately all the way through construction. This challenging project included the abandonment of a sanitary sewer main bisecting the property and the relocation of a public water main that bisected the property. A storm drainage outfall with a backwater valve was installed to provide a drainage outlet for the property to Jack’s Creek while complying with CAMA Stormwater Rules and the City of Washington’s Tar-Pamlico Nutrient Strategy.
